INTRODUCTION
This lesson has been written for the serious Christian. It is not written for
those who want to follow Jesus only when the going is fun or easy, nor those
who believe possessions are the proof of their successful walk with God. It is
not for those who do not want to persevere or suffer persecution, but for those
who want to endure to the end.

We see numerous people coming to Christ and in a few months they are back out
in sin again. They are so hopeless and sad; the problem lies in ignorance. They
do not know about curses and demons, and they do not know what to do about
their problems. In I Cor. 9:24-26 We are instructed to run our race so as to
receive the eternal prize. We are in serious training of studying the Bible and
putting its precepts into our life. Verse 26: Therefore I do not run
uncertainly - without definite aim. I do not box as one beating the air and
striking without an adversary. We must study our enemy and his tactics enough
to recognize him and know how to destroy his works in us.

What I really see, is the opposite of these instructions. I see myself and
almost all Christians living in a fantasy world. There God is the great red
santa in the sky who looks after you and dumps all His riches on you just
because you say you believe Jesus died for you. Yet the Bible tells us clearly
that we must keep all His Commandants to receive all His Blessings. There are
no short cuts to mature spirituality. We simply must follow instructions.

I was told that getting saved would solve all my problems, but I seemed to have
more problems after salvation than before. In reality, getting saved does solve
all our problems. More accurately or realistically stated, getting saved gives
us the right to begin to untangle the mess we and our ancestors have made of
our life. Most people (if they are honest with themselves and God) have
problems in their lives which they cannot seem to conquer after becoming
Christian. Often they become very discouraged and give up. One of the problems
is that we have unrealistic expectations of the Christian life and how to live
it. Just a careful reading of the Bible will show us many mistakes in teaching
and many things we hope we have been taught. Most of our problems come from
wanting to have an easy and exciting life. Yet, just a casual reader will begin
to notice that those twelve men who walked with Jesus didn't have life easy
neither did they have fine possessions. Most ended their lives as martyrs, yet
each one contributed to the success of every Christian's life.

Each one of us would do well to seriously consider this verse, it is self
explaining. Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed (my
suggestions), so now, not only (with the enthusiasm you would show) in my
presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to
the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and
trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience,
watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend
God and discredit the name of Christ) Phil. 2:12. These are also good
suggestions for maintaining deliverance and maturing in the Christian life.

While it is true that Hebrews 12 gives us a glowing account of the faith of
Abraham, reading about his blunders and total lack of faith on some occasions
will help us see a better balance. By the time he became strong in faith he was
rather old.

I have been in churches for most of my fifty seven years. I have been very
discouraged with my own Christian life, and the Christian life lived by pastors
and older Christians. I never completely left the church or Christian life, yet
I have had times when I was not very interested at all. Even at these times, I
was not out in sin; my sin was disinterest and ignorance. I have witnessed the
same thing happening to others; many of whom go back to the world never to
return to the church.

I would ask pastors why someone who was on fire for the Lord went back to the
world. I would usually get an answer something like this, They just didn't love
the Lord enough or They just didn't have it in them. I always wondered what it
was and worried if I had enough of it.

My own life was filled with attitudes and actions that were not pleasing to me,
and I knew they could not please God. No amount of grief over them seemed to
change anything. I followed what my church taught which was to repent,
rededicate my life, and hope to make it through by the skin of my teeth. After
thirty years of this process, you feel like giving up; it seems the only
reasonable solution to the problem.

It took the death of an only son to get me to set my heart like flint after God
and to give up trying to please man. I turned to the Bible as my only hope, and
to begin to read it and believe it just as it was stated not as my denomination
interpreted it. Then I began to see that many ideas I had received from my
denomination were wrong or even outright lies. I would have to change my own
ideas and life because the denomination would not change. Consequently, I found
myself receiving the left foot of fellowship. I was never taken before the
church as I should have been and my disagreements heard by the body of Christ.
I found that the church leaders did not follow the direction in the Bible, the
very manual they claimed to believe and teach. I couldn't understand why they
wanted me to follow it either.

Not many Christians have ever heard of having a curse. Beginning in the Old
Testament, God gives us information on both blessing and cursing. Even if we
do not like to think about it, God is the boss and has the right to say how
his kingdom will be run. In Deuteronomy, blessing and cursing are explained
to the children of Israel.

Where and when did curses begin for the human race? There seem to have been no
curses on the human race before Adam and Eve disobeyed. In Genesis 3:14-19 we
find the first curse. It was on the serpent for beguiling Eve. The next was to
Eve. Verse 16: I will greatly multiply your grief and your suffering in
pregnancy and the pangs of childbearing; with spasms of distress you will bring
forth children. Yet your desire and craving will be for your husband, and he
will rule over you. To see if this curse is still in effect, ask any wife and
mother. Pain in childbearing is not something that women suffer alone; her
husband suffers emotionally at this time too.

The next was to Adam. Verses 17-19: The ground is under a curse because of you;
in sorrow and toil shall you eat (of the fruits) of it all the days of your
life, Thorns also and thistles shall It bring forth for you, and you shall eat
the plants of the field. In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread until
you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are and to
dust you shall return. It is so today. The ground is cursed because man gave
heed to his wife and obeyed her against God's commandments. Women suffer as
they watch the hard, back-breaking or stressful work of their husbands. And
so began the struggle that all men and women endure. Even while many men do not
farm the soil to feed the family, all will admit that they have many stresses
and trials while trying to earn a living.

Just as these curses are still in effect, so are all the others which were
issued later. Curses should be dealt with according to Biblical instructions.
Those which are passed down the family line for generations will be in effect
until they run their course or the sin is repented of, all offending forbearers
are forgiven, demons called out, and the life and mind disciplined to Biblical
standards. You will have to change your attitude toward sin, continue reading
the Bible and putting it into action in your daily life.

WHAT IS A CURSE?
Scripture about the curse of the bastard and incest - A person begotten out of
wedlock shall not enter into the assembly of the Lord; even until his
tenth generation shall his descendants not enter into the congregation of
the Lord (Deut. 23:2).

BLESSINGS AND CURSES
Blessings and curses are results. They are the consequences of action we take,
Gal. 6:7-8. We all live with the results of our actions. Blessings are the
result of obeying God. Incorrect thoughts lead to incorrect actions (sins or
omissions) which often bring a curse on the one sinning and sometimes on future
generations. (Prov. 23:7, Mt. 15:19, Phil 4:8) There is a blessing for every
verse in the Bible that you obey. There is a curse for every verse in the
Bible that you disobey. Curses are the result of obeying the Devil - disobeying
God. If you obey half of the Bible, you are half blessed and half cursed.
Decide to follow the whole Bible, not just a selected part of it.

HOW DO CURSES TAKE EFFECT?
Curses take effect when you or your ancestors have committed certain acts
which are contrary to the Word of God. This is an act of sin which then
brings curses on you and your descendents. The demons will then try to
perpetuate the curse for all remaining generations of descendents. These
curses will be on every child as soon as it is conceived. In some cases it
seems demons have been able to enter the child in the womb at conception. The
child enters life with characteristics which are demonic. The world would say
that the child inherited this characteristic from his ancestors. What was
inherited was curses which allow demons a right to be passed down through the
blood line.

According to Strongs Concordance, there are several ways we curse and are
cursed. A curse has been defined as: uttering a wish of evil against one; to
imprecate evil; to call for mischief or injury to fall upon; to execrate, to
bring evil upon or to; to blast, vex, harass or torment with great calamities.
We have found that even the wrong kinds of prayer and laying on of hands, or
prayers at a distance, have resulted in hurtful and dismaying results with
the effects of a curse. For example: curses came on a man and woman through a
couple who were casting witchcraft curses in a Full Gospel Church!

DEMONS AND CURSES IN YOUR LIFE
You must systematically work at riding yourself of curses. It is much
easier to live without curses operating in your life. It is easier to live
with the demons on the outside than on the inside of the body. Christians
have many curses and demons, and must work over an extended period of
time to rid themselves of these. What the church needs more than anything
else is deliverance. They will never win the battle with Satan without
deliverance. We need to cast out demons as a natural part of our
Christian life.

VOWS AND CURSES (EXCERPTS)
In the Bible, vows were solemn promises to God, either positive or
negative. Under the Mosaic Law, the vows and promises of dependents such
as children, unmarried daughters and wives were void, except when ratified
by the express or tacit consent of the father or husband. This afforded
protection to them against rash vows. The whole matter is explored in Numbers
30. Other scriptures dealing with vows include: Ecc. 5:4-6, Num. 30:2,
Deut. 23:21-22.

Broken vows can be a source of real trouble. That is why Jonah repented
and renewed his vows in the belly of the fish, saying, I will pay my vows.
If a vow is discovered to be contrary to scripture and dishonoring to God, it
should be formally renounced and forgiveness sought for making it (I John
1:9). A vow that is expressly evil or is for an evil purpose should
never be made nor kept. To keep such a vow, for the sake of consistency, is
to compound one evil by another (Matt. 5:33-37).

OLD TESTAMENT CURSES
Blessings, Curses and Duration
Exodus 20:1-5 (Curse of idol worship extends to fourth generation of great
grandchildren.)
Deut. 23:2 (Curse of the bastard extends to tenth generation of descendants.)
Deut. Ch. 28 (Blessings are for obeying and curses for disobeying the Holy
Bible; verses 1-14: blessings, 15-44: curses and 45-68: wrath of God.)
Exodus 20:1-5 & Ezekiel 18:1-9 (God showed Earline that this was the curse of
idol worship brought on her by her Indian ancestors which caused her and her
family heart trouble. He also showed her how to break the curse.)

Notice how a family can be cursed to the fourth or tenth generation by
the ancestors. Actually there are curses on the human race that go all
the way back to Adam and Eve. Blessings can go from generation to
generation if not broken by sin. Curses can also go from generation to
generation if not broken by prayers of repentance, and deliverance followed by
disciplining of life.

Very simply, we are blessed for obeying the Word of God and cursed for
disobeying the Word of God. Blessings and curses are promises from God which
will either bring down the wrath of God or His favor on your family.

God will supply all of your needs: mental, physical, spiritual and
material. He can become your Savior, Baptizer, Healer, Deliverer and
Prosperer. These things will only come to pass if you follow the Bible - for
every promise there is a condition. If you do not meet the condition, you
will not receive the promise!

New Testament Curses
Many Christians believe that all Old Testament curses are no longer in effect,
yet they believe all the blessings are in effect. This does not make sense at
all. If the curses are done away with, then all the promises should also be
done away with and are not relevant to us today.

In Matt. 5:17-19 Jesus speaking says Do not think that I have come to do away
with or undo the Law and the prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo,
but to complete and fulfill them. For truly, I tell you, until the sky and
earth pass away and perish not one smallest letter nor one little hook
[identifying certain Hebrew letters] will pass from the Law until all things
[it foreshadows] have been accomplished. Whoever then breaks or does away with
or relaxes one of the least important of these commandments and teaches men so,
shall be called least important in the kingdom of Heaven; but he who practices
them and teaches others to do so shall be called great in the kingdom of
Heaven. In the Old Testament it seems God was concerned with outward actions,
but in the New Testament, He is concerned with our inner thoughts. The next
verses concern thoughts and emotions. This chapter goes on to explain some of
the ways God looks at anger, malice, calling a person a cursed fool,
unforgiveness, adultery, divorce, remarriage, oaths or swearing, retaliation,
selfishness, love enemies, etc. The requirements of the Law are not changed but
rather enforced. To try to skip over dealing with curses, sins and their
results will only bring confusion and grief. See also Mat. 15, 19:17-19; Mark
7; Romans 12:14.

OCCULT CURSES
Why Do People Take Drugs?
I am always interested in the reasons why we (people) do the things we do. The
Bible tells us in Gal. 6:7-8, Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God
will not allow Himself to be sneered at - scorned, disdained or mocked (by
mere pretensions or professions, or His precepts being set aside). He
inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God. For whatsoever a man
sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh
(lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay, ruin and
destruction; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal
life. If you are in trouble, the Bible tells you that you are reaping what
you have sown. The Bible also tells us that God has made a way for us to
recover all (sometimes even better than it was before). We have to apply
ourselves to diligently following the instruction given in the manual (Holy
Bible).

As I have pondered, prayed and studied the problem of drugs and their
destructive power, I have become convinced that the overriding problem behind
the use of destructive drugs is rejection. Many children today are not allowed
to bond with their parents, therefore they never feel truly accepted or at
oneness with the people they are naturally supposed to bond with. One of the
causes of this is early baby days spent in nursery or day care situations
where the care giver changes rapidly. It is very unsettling to try to settle
alignment and affections on someone, and have them leave you too quickly.
Because of this, we have a whole generation of young people trying to fix
something but they do not know what it is that needs fixing, so how can they
fix it? Another reason is being brought up in an unhappy, uncaring home. God
has told parents to rear children (tenderly) in discipline, wise counsel and
admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:1-4 and II Tim. 3:1-3). One reason for so much
divorce is this inability to relate intimately with others. The abuse of drugs
is an attempt to satisfy rejection.

We have a very large portion of young people today into all kinds of self-
destructive practices. They can be seen congregating in many areas across the
country. They are usually rejected children from rejected parents. As rejection
passes down the generations, it picks up momentum in each succeeding generation
unless someone applies the Biblical process to destroy its effects in a family.
One of the main reasons we go to doctors so much is to try to fix that spot of
rejection. Before I received deliverance from rejection, I used to go to
doctors who seldom could find anything wrong with me. I thought some drug
would fix it. I was trying to get something done about the spot that was not
satisfied.

Do you know that the rejection demons that have been cast out of you are always
around looking for a chance to trap you and get back in. Here's an example of
rejection at work: I went to the doctor to have him check to see if I had
cracked any ribs. I had a minor wreck with my car and I hit my chest on the
seat belt. I was feeling great when I went in but tested with high blood
pressure. I was given a medicine for high blood pressure. I took one tablet and
shortly began to see a kaleidoscope before my left eye. Since the pressure was
not down enough, I was given another pill to try.

I am discussing with Gene whether to take it or not. In the mist of this
conversation, Gene tells me I have always been stubborn. I decide to take the
pill and be a nice obedient patient. By the end of three weeks I have
depression, diarrhea if I eat, stomach pains if I didn't eat, bad headaches,
dizziness, etc. When I returned in two weeks, I was indeed very ill. I also
noticed that I had the symptoms of all the things he had said the blood test
suggested I might have. I am beginning to wonder if drugs to cause emotional
problems and symptoms are not added to curative drugs. Since I have been off
the drug for three weeks, I no longer feel any symptoms that were suggested to
me. I feel that often times the side effects of medicines are demon spirits.
As you can see, I had played with one demon, Rejection, and had several of his
friends come along with him.

When rejected people have not recognized that they are dealing with rejection,
they will look all over, into themselves and try a lot of things to help
themselves. Their demons are so happy. The demons will help each other get
into you. Of course they cannot just jump in; they have to have you give them
the right to come in. Demons are just like us in that they are a spirit with a
soul (mind, will and emotions) but they have no body. A body is what you have
that they want. Many of the bad emotions we have are theirs. We must learn to
separate our emotions and thoughts from theirs. Demons are never going to tell
you that they are talking. They talk just like the body belongs to them. Ask
the Lord to show you how they have worked you all this time. In James Chapter
1, God promises to give wisdom to all who ask.

Why would a person of normal intelligence do things that will destroy
themselves? The Bible tells us that no man ever hated his own body (Eph.5:29).
If one desires to destroy himself, it must be someone using his mind and not
him. Why do some people get on harmful drugs, become grossly over weight, work
themselves to death or live in terrible fears? Often these things have roots in
rejection.

REFERENCE
For a real eye-opener, go to the public library and ask to see
the Physicians Desk Reference. It lists all the prescription drugs and
their possible side effects. Sometimes the side effects produced by the
chemicals are similar to the symptoms being treated.
